What is this?
NFTs are non-fungible tokens. Our mission is to make Tokens Fungible again! Just kidding! In simplest terms non—fungible basically means one—of—a—kind. We like that part and want to make NFTs attainable for everyone. NFT Garage Sale is a very real & serious—although satirical— art event with a dual intention of introducing artists to the world of NFTs, while poking fun at NFTs & playfully pushing their bounds.
NFT Garage Sale is an artist run, grassroots project with a mission of demystifying emerging technologies like NFTs and cryptocurrency, making them more accessible to artists and collectors in the community. We accomplish this by fostering learning and connection, bringing artists, patrons and entrepreneurs together through this fun and approachable art show.
Who should submit?
Everyone with an interest in art and/or NFTs. No experience needed!

How does this work?
We will be minting all accepted JPGs/PNGs (turning them into NFTs with a general license that can be edited later by the artist) to be sold for CASH at the event. The freshly minted NFTs will be exhibited in rotation on display screens at the event. Once sold they will be digitally transferred to their new owner without the need for cryptocurrency. BOOM. Your token has just been funged.(not technically)
**The best NFTs (as selected by the curators) will be turned into a limited run of real wooden coins! These coins will be included with the purchase of the NFT & will feature a one-of-a-kind mini AR (Augmented Reality) experience embedded onto the coin! Wow! Amazing!!
**Volunteers will be available to answer questions and help beginners set up the needed accounts to acquire their new NFTs with or without cryptocurrency. There are no start up costs to begin minting and transfering NFTs
**Although Cash is preferred we will also accept cards, cash app, paypal, and crypto at the sale.
**We will retain 20% of all NFT sales.
**All unsold NFTs will have the option to be transferred to their original owners (the artists) without any fees.

Founders:
Corrina Espinosa is a Denver based new media artist and curator interested in all things art & tech. She teaches digital art at CU, Boulder and has exhibited her art locally at the Denver Art Museum, Meow Wolf & BMoCA as well as internationally at venues in Barcelona and Bosnia.
David Hanan is a web designer and 360 photographer with 5 years experience in Virtual and Augmented Reality. He is the head of XR at Spectra Art Space and has designed virtual experiences for the International Design Center, Lion Brand Yarn and was the worlds first virtual reality tour guide as the Travel Proxy.
